CSU.CI Building, 6th floor
Join us on 6 May at 2.00 pm for an Artist Talk with Prof. Nichole Maury, who is visiting our Academy as part of the Erasmus+ Programme.
The Artist Talk will take place in the Digital Printing and Experimental Techniques Studio (6th floor, CSU building).
As part of her visit, the artist will also lead her own workshop, ‘Screenprint Monoprinting’, in the Screenprinting Studio, introducing students to unique techniques for combining screen printing with monotype.
Nichole Maury lives and works in the United States, where she holds the position of Professor of Art at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo (Michigan). In 2004, she obtained an MFA title in printmaking from the University of Iowa, and in 1998 she completed her undergraduate studies (BFA) at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In her work, she explores the interrelationships between printmaking, drawing and other process-based working methods.
Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, including at the International Print Center in New York, the Scuola di Grafica in Venice, Italy, the Chicago Cultural Center and the Urban Institute of Contemporary Art in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The artist’s work has been featured in publications such as "New American Paintings" (Midwest edition, vol. 89) and "Printmakers Today" (Schiffer Publishing, 2010). Her works are held in the collections of, among others, the Midwest Museum of Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Kala Art Institute.
