"Migration of Ideas" in Hayy Open Space
From November 14th to December 5th, 2024, an exhibition titled "Migration of Ideas" featuring doctoral students from our Doctoral School took place at Hayy Open Space Gallery in Izmir, Turkey.
It was a remarkable artistic event showcasing diverse creative attitudes and an interdisciplinary approach to art represented by young artists affiliated with our Academy. Among the participants were: Saitip Majewska, Laura Adel, Ula Lucińska & Michał Knychaus, Aleksandra Szlęk, Evghenia Grytsku, Miruna Gheordunescu, and Ioannis Anastasiou. The exhibition was curated by the Dean of the Doctoral School, Jakub Jernajczyk, who supervised the exhibition's concept and cohesive message. The opening attracted a diverse audience, including local artists, students, lecturers, and Izmir residents interested in contemporary international art. Works presented under "Migration of Ideas" explored themes of identity, migration, cultural exchange, and dialogue between tradition and modernity, showcasing diverse media and artistic approaches ranging from painting and sculpture to installations and digital art.
The installation of the exhibition and its vernissage were also key components of the Doctoral School's research visit to Izmir, conducted as part of the NAWA STER project - internationalization of doctoral schools. During this visit, doctoral students had the opportunity to present their research projects at a special meeting with the academic staff and students of Yasar University, fostering exchange of experiences, knowledge, and building an international network of academic cooperation.
We warmly invite you to view the photo report from the vernissage and exhibition, capturing the unique atmosphere of this event. The "Migration of Ideas" exhibition is a prime example of how art can transcend borders, inspiring reflection on contemporary challenges and opportunities in a globalized world.
