Welcome at ASP WRO! Welcome Week for incoming international students

A week filled with new experiences and discoveries - this is how our Erasmus+ students began their adventure at ASP! Throughout Welcome Week, they had the chance to get familiar with the Academy, explore Wrocław, meet fellow students, and settle into their new surroundings.

We kicked things off with an official welcome, during which students received essential briefing on studying at the Academy and explored our buildings. Of course, no introduction to Poland would be complete without a taste of its traditional cuisine! During a hands-on cooking workshop, students learned how to make pierogi and had the chance to enjoy their freshly prepared creations.

Exploring Wrocław was another important part of the programme. From a guided walk through the historic city centre to a relaxing boat trip offering a different perspective on the city, students had plenty of opportunities to discover their new home for next months. We also dived into Polish history and art with visits to the Panorama of the Battle of Racławice and the Four Domes Pavilion. Along the way, there was time to enjoy a traditional Polish lunch and sample some delicious local pastries.

But Welcome Week wasn't just about sightseeing and practical information, it was also about making connections and having fun together! Board and card games, a challenging quiz about Poland (even for the organisers), and a joyful evening at Sztuka na Miejscu created plenty of opportunities to get to know one another. Students also took part in our very own city game, following clues through Wrocław to uncover hidden artistic treasures connected to our Academy.

And the welcome celebrations didn't end there. Just a few days after our Welcome Week, our students joined Erasmus Welcome Day, an event organised by the City of Wrocław in cooperation with local universities. It was another great opportunity to meet international students from across the city, make new connections, and experience music, dancing, food (again) and all the attractions.

Once again, welcome to ASP! We wish you an inspiring and unforgettable semester in Wrocław. 

Na tym jednak powitalne świętowanie się nie skończyło. Zaledwie kilka dni po zakończeniu naszego Welcome Week-u, 15 października,  studenci uczestniczyli w Erasmus Welcome Day – wydarzeniu zorganizowanym przez Miasto Wrocław we współpracy z lokalnymi uczelniami. Naszą uczelnie reprezentował na nich Piotr Saul, prowadzący warsztaty robienia masek.

Była to kolejna doskonała okazja do poznania studentów z zagranicy studiujących na innych wrocławskich uczelniach, nawiązania nowych znajomości oraz wspólnej zabawy przy muzyce, tańcach, dobrym jedzeniu (znowu!) i wielu innych atrakcjach.
