Lectures on illustration
AARHUS UNIVERSITY, Nordre Ringgade 1, Aarhus
We invite you to the lectures on Polish illustration at the University of Aarhus (Aarhus Universitet) in Denmark.
Dr Anita Wincencjusz-Patyna will give a lecture on contemporary Polish children's and young adult books. She will discuss more than a hundred years of history of Polish illustration – starting with the avant-garde projects of Franciszka and Stefan Themerson, through the golden age of the Polish School of Illustration in the 1950s-70s, to the contemporary successes of Polish illustrators on the international arena (e.g. BolognaRagazzi, White Ravens, Nami Picturebook Contest, BIBF Ananas Beijing). Dr Magdalena Wosik will give an artist talk about her present works, from sketches to final illustrations and she will talk about her creative process. The artist will also present her interactive activity books, including collaborations with her husband, Piotr Rychel, as well as illustrations for the bestselling children's book series by Mariusz Szczygielski.
