OBJECTIVE
The aim of the Studio is to learn the theory and practice of stained glass. During the classes, the student gets acquainted with the stained-glass work from scratch, which prepares him/her for further work as a stained-glass restorer. He or she acquires skills that allow him or her to make copies of stained-glass windows from different eras and to work independently on artistic projects.
DESCRIPTION
Due to the nature of the conservation profession, this studio places great emphasis on learning about the variety of stained-glass techniques, including folding, painting, etching, etc. This studio is a prelude to classes in stained-glass conservation and restoration, conducted in the higher years of studies in studio 212 (CSU), majoring in Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art, in Conservation and Restoration of Ceramics and Glass.
