 OBJECTIVE

The aim of the Studio is to learn how to recognize a stained-glass object in all its material complexity, which enables the proper execution of the conservation project. The classes include the acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of past and present materials and conservation techniques. Students learn about the components of the stained-glass building, their physicochemical properties and the corrosive processes taking place in them. Practical classes include a part of independent work with the historical material, from initial analysis to final conservation procedures and their documentation.

DESCRIPTION

The studio is closely connected with the Stained Glass Conservation and Restoration Studio Ł2 (Plac Polski). The emphasis is placed on a broad understanding of the monument in its context, which affects the state of its preservation. As part of the diplomas, the studio closely cooperates with cultural and art institutions (museums, galleries, etc.) and other studios of the Chair of Conservation and Restoration of Ceramics and Glass.

SUBJECTS

Maintenance and restoration of stained-glass windows
Methodology of conservation and restoration of stained glass
