Functional Glass

I am a graduate of the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław and also studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Between 2004 and 2008, I worked as a designer collaborating with KHS Krosno S.A. Glassworks, Violetta Glassworks in Stronie Śląskie, Makora Glassworks in Krosno, and Villa Glass Studio in Krosno. I have developed several dozen implemented designs of functional and decorative glass, presented at international trade fairs in Frankfurt (Tendence, Ambiente).

Currently, alongside my teaching activities, I produce short series of functional glass designs and create installations and sculptures aligned with contemporary trends in glass art. I am the initiator and curator of exhibitions and artistic events, a passionate explorer of hot glass processes and geometry in art. I am the author of several solo exhibitions and have participated in numerous national and international group exhibitions. I am a laureate and finalist of many competitions. My works are held in museums and private collections in Poland and abroad, including the National Museum in Wrocław, the National Museum in Poznań, the Karkonosze Museum, the Museum of Glass in Hamburg, and the Glass Museum in Lette, Germany.

I reduce expressive means and limit narration to the language of geometry, creating sculptures and installations that refer to order and harmony. The idea behind my artistic work results from a continuous process of searching for an ideal spatial form, with the line as its point of departure. My process relies on experimentation, careful observation of the material’s potential, and striving towards a predefined goal; deviations from the initial concept may occur only at the technological level, not the visual one.

In design, I seek confrontation with the viewer, direct feedback, and an understanding of the needs of the user as well as the potential client.
