Join us for an afternoon and evening exploring Iranian culture, language, food and history.

Iran Behind the Curtains is a cultural event organized by a group of Iranians living and working in Wrocław who want to share their culture and raise awareness about the situation of the brave Iranian people fighting for their freedom.

Throughout the event you will also be able to enjoy Iranian tea and sweets, visit a small exhibition dedicated to those who lost their lives, and see a Haft-Sin, the traditional decoration prepared in Iranian homes for the Persian New Year, Nowruz.

13:30 – 15:30 | Iranian Cooking Workshop
We will cook together Kuku Sabzi, a delicious traditional vegetarian dish made with fresh herbs and eggs.

15:30 – 17:30 | Persian Writing Workshop
Discover the beauty of the Persian alphabet. In this workshop we will explain how Persian letters work and help you write your own name in Persian.

18:00 | Introduction & Film Screening
Screening of the animated film PERSEPOLIS, based on the graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi.

19:45 | Lecture & Q&A
A short lecture about the history of resistance in Iran, from the Islamic Revolution 1979 until today, followed by an open Q&A discussion.
