This is the fourth edition of a series of exhibitions titled “Hallo Wrocław 2016” related with awarding Wrocław the title of European Capital of Culture 2016. It is also the first joint presentation of the young academic environment of Wroclaw and Prague.
The title of the exhibition was borrowed from one of Bohumil Hrabal's stories. Arranged from snippets and refused variants is creates some kind of collage; it bases on all that has beed rejected just like Salon de Refusés.
"What has remained" encourages artists not only to experiment with fragments of their works, it can also indicate political and historical themes. It is also a theme which is open to the question of memory. Without memory we are as incomplete as Hrabal when he lost a cracked ring while he was feeding his cats.
The exhibition is taking place in two locations: the Polish Institute Gallery [Malé Náměstí 1, Praha 1]- 24 April- 01 June, 2014 and in the Trafačka Gallery [Kurta Konráda 1, Praha 9]- 24 April- 04 May, 2014.
