Post-digital printmaking. Redefinition of printwhich will be held from 6th to 8th December, 2017at the Center for Applied Arts. Center for Innovation (CSU.CI), Traugutta Street 19/21, Wrocław
We invite artists and art theorists to participate in debate on the role, condition and future of contemporary printmaking. We believe that the opportunity to juxtapose and compare a variety of artistic and scientific perspectives will forge creative and meaningful discussion.
The conference will be a continuation of the 2013 symposium/exhibition Cutting-Edge Printmaking, followed by the 2015 seminar/exhibition Redefinition of the concept of matrix organised by The E. Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw. These events provided excellent opportunities, not only to discuss the technical aspects of printmaking, but also to debate the artistic features and possibilities within printmaking that other mediums lack.
We would like to continue this theme and include following issues in the debate:– experiments within traditional techniques;– coexistence of traditional printmaking with new technologies;– exploring the technical limits of print;– experiments with a matrix and different substrates;– printmaking within a field of spatial interventions;– technological news and new possibilities of creating images.
The program of the conference includes: lectures // papers // incubators // mentoring sessions // exhibitions Organisers plan to publish bilingual conference publication.
Language of conference: Polish and English
The deadline for submitting applications for paper presentations and/or for exhibition is 22nd October, 2017. Please send your application to: printmaking@asp.wroc.pl. You will be notified as to whether or not your application has been successful by 27th October, 2017. Deadline for sending the works for the exhibition is 19th November, 2017.The conference fee: 200 PLN / 50 EUR. It will be used for printing the conference catalogue.
